Norgan Cold and Whiteout Guide

Norgan’s blizzards can reduce maximum stamina, frost the minimap and make the world map unreliable. Use Thermal equipment for persistent resistance or a Heat Stone for temporary party protection. Learn short return routes before a whiteout and do not let a higher-stat relic remove the only cold defense in your party.

Norgan cold survival diagram showing a short marked route from the settlement through a whiteout zone to a landmark, with Thermal gear and a Heat Stone as protection choices.
Original field diagram: use a short route, a visible landmark, and one confirmed cold-protection plan.

Review-build reporting identifies three separate pressures during severe weather:

  • maximum stamina can be reduced;
  • the minimap can frost over;
  • the world map can become inaccurate, while Pawns may be unable to guide the route.

This means cold is not only a damage-resistance problem. It affects combat endurance and navigation at the same time. The safest response is to plan a short known route and preserve a return margin.

Option Use it when Tradeoff
Thermal equipment You expect sustained exposure or cannot time the storm It may have lower raw stats than another appraised relic.
Heat Stone You want temporary party protection while wearing stronger gear Duration is temporary; exact sourcing and timing need launch verification.
Both The route is unknown or retreat is difficult Conserves neither gear flexibility nor consumables, but reduces exposure risk.
  1. Start from the Norgandian Settlement with one confirmed protection plan.
  2. Choose a short objective: one cave, one cluster of homes or a nearby monster route.
  3. Mark physical landmarks before visibility drops. Do not depend solely on the map.
  4. Watch stamina capacity, not just the current stamina bar.
  5. If navigation degrades, turn back while the last landmark is still identifiable.
  6. Appraise relics and reassess the Thermal-versus-power tradeoff before the next trip.

Use the relic expedition guide for the complete loot loop and the start-order guide if your party is not yet ready for Norgan.

Needs launch verification: exact weather duration, item-specific Thermal values, Heat Stone duration and whether every whiteout applies the same map behavior.
